Trump had won & has now lost, not just the election but his way too.
He's still the US President and so we can say that as the First Citizen, he's a representative of America that's lost it's way.
Trump's detractors say that he is a very un-American politician. Really?
But he can't be ignored, he had half the America voting for him - he lost by just a razor blade margin !
And what did the work done by the supposedly very American politicians in the last 2 decades before Trump amount to?
Just this - the Great American Slide.
Their arrogance was power and so they unleashed unnecessary global entanglement, winning wars in distant places from air, paid for by the Americans only to loose peace, global goodwill & influence there & beyond once the boots landed on conquered lands.
Even when there was no value matching between buyer & seller, factories were disproportionately moved to the communist China for no noble cause besides greed only to be held at ransom later.
Don't forget the Wallstreet protests before Trump came in, was led mostly by the White humble office going population as their real income had stagnated for the last 25 years.
And so when value added products were no longer made in USA, for growth they had no choice but resort to loose monetary policy, jeopardizing their key asset - the American dollar as a global currency for trade, opening window for discussions on the Chinese Yuan as an alternative.
As far as immigrants, in the decades gone by, they came in to pursue their career & dreams and in the bargain enriched America through hard work and assimilation.
But when they came only to remain isolated and seek illegal jobs & not volunteering in either the American capitalism nor enrolling in their democratic ideology but only seeking benefits & bonuses from both. Something had to give way.
The virus was an undeclared Chinese counter attack to the declared trade war by America on the unfair trade practices. Like Sweden, Trump refused to cower or yield except his articulation was found missing the mark & the problem got further compounded by the left liberal media that had ganged up against him.
In the final reckoning, Trump is just a symbolic rebel against the influenced career politicians before him who were engineering a controlled dismantling of all things that made America Great.
In the larger canvas, Trump is an an alternate American thought that had given rise to a movement. He never was a Republican, he's a man on his own & against the system.
The movement would have continued but for the Freudian slip between the Thought & the Tweet.
Whichever way, America is now just meandering without a clear destination.
